DMI Maritime Service offers meteorological Energy Briefings to Energy Traders with main emphasis on power trading in Scandinavia and Continental Europe as well as gas trading in the UK. We also provide Coal and Oil traders with meteorological information and forecasts.
On a daily basis our experienced meteorologists evaluate several Numerical Weather Prediction models (NWP) and Ensemble Prediction System (EPS) e.g. from ECMWF and GFS particularly with respect to parameters which are of interest to energy traders.
Using our meteorological knowledge and experience of Numerical Weather Prediction models and Ensemble Prediction System forecasts, we comment on:
· Reliability of latest model runs.
· Possible changes in upcoming model runs.
· Probability estimate of outcome of different scenarios.
(e.g. cold/warm or wet/dry).
· Tendencies beyond the Numerical Weather Prediction forecast period and up to 3 months ahead.
· Large scale weather patterns which can affect the oil, gas, coal and power prices e.g. hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, or cold air outbreaks over NE parts of USA, prolonged monsoon etc.
Our services are of great value to energy traders in order to take weather forecasts into consideration, when buying and selling oil, gas, coal or power.
