Change of upperair flow over Europe and Scandinavia.
The upperair pattern over the North Atlantic is changing causing a change of the air flow over Europe and Scandinavia

For some time a stationary upperair trough has been situated over east parts of the North Atlantic causing a westerly or southwesterly flow of mild air over Europe. During this week the trough is replaced by a strong stationary ridge, which causes the upperair flow over Europe and Scandinavia to come from north and northeast. The change in the upperair flow brings the cold air back to Europe.
